May ipsy Glam Bag Review 2015

JETSETTER May Glam Bag

wpid-picsart_1432138313623.jpg

 GOODIES:
  • Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on Lip pencil (+ Revolution High color Lip gloss)
  • Chella Eyebrow color pencil
  • Klorane Smoothing and Relaxing eye mask patches (2 pair)
  • Luxie Beauty Tappered Blending eye brush 205
  • CoTz Face Natural SPF 40

POSITIVES: I LOVE getting brushes. No I don’t care that I have enough already, you always need more because they are continually dirty! This one from Luxie Beauty is super soft and the rose gold and pink is adorable. The Chella eyebrow pencil works great for mimicking eyebrow hairs too! It seems really flimsy when I first handled this, but it really gets the job done great. The Klorane eye patches were a GODSEND after a long night of birthday celebrations!

TIP: pop the pouch of eye masks in the fridge for a few seconds and get the most REFRESHING feeling after a long day or nigh!

NEGATIVES: I still can’t figure out what the COTZ Face Natural ‘STUFF’ is truly meant for. Its tinted, and has SPF but is supposed to be natural? Eh, no thanks. Did nothing to my skin and its texture was awkward. I had the same nonchalant feeling towards the  Urban Decay Priming lip liner it has good intentions I believe it, but not with my lips. My lip color still wore off like normal, but left a very pigmented ring around my mouth. Not cute. Plus the Revolution High color lip gloss….really?!? The one time use packaging?! I could have skipped that all together, not to mention the boring pink and crazy purple shades, and my heaven were they STICKY!! On to the Next one!

OVERALL: Meh, not so great, but still got some really useful things out of this months goodies. I will definitely be using the brush and eyebrow pencil! And the different versions of the monthly Bag were AWESOME! keep it coming Ipsy!

April ipsy Glam Bag Review 2015

Beautifully Bohemian April Glambag

 wpid-picsart_1429131159890.jpg

 GOODIES:
  • Redken WIND BLOWN 05 Dry-finishing spray
  • Julie G Nail color in Damsel
  • Pandora’s Makeup box blush in Pink Carnation
  • theBalm Cosmetics NUDE Dude Eyeshadow Single in Fit
  • Mullein & Sparrow Mini Lip/cheek tint

POSITIVES: BAG: This month’s bag has got to be the CUTEST and MOST useful one in the past 12+ months! its big and adorable! Definitely condensing my 3 smaller makeup bags for this one! LOVE IT!! NAIL POLISH: You gotta know this is a major + for me! The color choice is average, but a really nice opaque and bright berry pink. TINT: The scent is the only positive for me here, it smells of cocoa or a bakery and I’m normally a sucker cute packaging, but for a lip product, no thanks. I’ll be re-purposing this tin, eventually…

wpid-picsart_1429130583772.jpg

Nail Polish Swatch: Lovely rich pink shade. The brush is decent, I will never let go of the Wet N Wild Megalast brush width, Its Numba One! Although I know I have millions of these mid-toned pink shades, but you won’t catch me saying no to more!!

wpid-img_1058.jpg

Eyeshadow Swatch: This is a nice bronzey brown shade, although when I blend the color out on my lid, it gives off this great tan ~slightly peachy~ feel and it works for blending into the crease.

NEGATIVES: BLUSH: The color is great, wonderfully pigmented, BUT~ the fallout was ridiculous! I barely touched my blush brush, which is pretty soft people, and it GOT all over me! I lost so much product from having to shake out the fallout 😦 TINT: color and case, the shade does nothing but look like a shiny lip balm and I can’t get over how unsanitary tins are for long term use! I HATE putting my fingers in products, this would have been way better in chap-stick form.

Lip Stain Cheat Code: Since I’ve taken to only using this for my mouth, who wants shiny sticky cheeks?! (You Go Glen CoCo if its you, cuz it AIN’T me)

Application Fix: open tin, make “duck face”, put lips in tin. TADA!! Yes this is cheating and still not the cleanest but a girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do!

OVERALL: Loving the theme, the products and the bag itself! Too bad we didn’t get a jewelry sample since the sneak peeks were filled with them Eh??, maybe we’ll get discount code when they send the rest. Still SO pleased with this month’s stash! The eye shadow is a great neutral but not boring shade, and I’ve never had a Dry-finishing spray, gonna have to play around with this one.

Capture

I hope everyone is having/had a fun “festival season” Is this over yet? I only care about Crawfish season LOL Although I seriously LOVE every crochet top I see on these flower-crown wearing babes! BUT~ I can’t help but picture this ever time i think of it>>>>>>>

March ipsy Glam Bag Review 2015

 FLORAL FANTASY March Glambag

wpid-march-glambag.jpg.jpeg

 GOODIES:

  • BOO BOO Cover-Up Camouflage Concealer
  • Pur~lisse Gentle Soy Milk Cleanser
  • Dr. Brandt anti-aging Mattifying Lotion
  • Vintage by Jessica Liebeskind Highlighter in Crystal Pink
  • NYX Butter Lipstick in Hunk

POSITIVES: HIGHLIGHTER: This is a gorgeous shade, with the perfect amount of simmer. No lie. using this as a eyebrow-highlight or eyeshadow, glitter on my cheeks makes me feel like I got carried away with my shadow and didn’t care to clean up the fallout.CONCEALER: this sucker is SO thick! Not suitable for everyday use I feel. But for those out of control blemishes-perfection! BAG: Loving the top placed zip and the abstract floral design, very chic, very posh, not at all teeny-bopper! ❤

NEGATIVES: MATTIFYING LOTION: This seems to mattify well (if that’s even a word..spell-check seems to think otherwise), compared to a sample I had of Olay Fresh Effects Swirled Mattifier. My issue is the scent. This is intended for the first layer under makeup…so I would prefer no scent at all. LIPSTICK: Just the color is a no for me. Don’t fret. I love me some NYX Cosmetics. But Hello Ipsy. Purple?! Its like you don’t even know me! Or my skin tone!? Except you DO!! It may work, with strong emphasis on MAY. But I know me and I know I won’t wear it. And I don’t want to waste a lipstick on just a swatch. Anyone up for tradsies??

NOTE: I have yet to use the cleanser, although I’ve got reservations about sample cleansers in general…

You need more than just a few washes to know if your face will react to these, and this 1 oz size is hardly enough for 3 washes at most, who likes to skimp? Good traveling cleanser I suppose. But what if you have a reaction? And get pimply while your on vaca?? I’ll PASS, thanks.

OVERALL: Not the worst bag I’ve gotten, I’ll use 75% of the samples received, May retake the personality quiz to mix things up a bit. Still definitely worth the money spent.
